Some of us had more than enough of the MJ media coverage. Some of us still can’t get enough of it. It’s been almost three weeks since the King of Pop passed away. The circumstances of his sudden death remain unclear. I guess, we will never find out the whole truth. Michael Jackson will remain mystery in the history of music.
As curious and drama thirsty as the human nature is, we always thrive for more breaking news. Of course, the media is to blame for spreading the news. But media isn’t something that functions by itself. Media is controlled by people. Human beings like you and me. Human beings that supply what is demanded by other human beings, in that case the viewers.
First, we loved Michael Jackson, then we idolized him, then we thought he was weird, then we hated him, then we forgot about him; and now that he is dead, we love and idolize him like never before, and don’t even remember how weird he seemed to be and how much we hated him. Before you knew it, Michael Jackson became a racial issue. Don’t you remember what he said? It doesn’t matter if you are black or white. It is false not to acknowledge that Michael Jackson opened the doors for many African American entertainers. But his music was color blind. His ability to put music and his love to music above race and color has made him unique. The black or white might still matter to Bill O’Reilly or Al Sharpton. To many of MJ’s fans it will remain irrelevant. Let’s just remember and honor him for his music and let the others worry about everything else.

R.I.P. Michael Jackson
