1. Get a new haircut, outfit, and a new attitude. When I wake up some mornings feeling bad, I spruce up extra nice and it makes me feel better.
2. Manicures, pedicures, candlelit bubble baths and massages do wonders for your self-esteem.
3. Disconnect yourself from negative people, even if they are your significant others or family members. You may not realize it, but negative spirits cause YOU to become chronic negative thinkers. When all you hear are bad things, then you tend to start beliving them. Loose yourself! I don’t fool with my own mother for that very reason. You don’t need to listen to people telling you what you CAN’T DO, adopt some friends that tell you, YOU CAN DO IT.
4. Chill out, quit frowning, complaining and crying. Avoid situations that cause you to be upset. If you know everytime you go to Aunt Clara’s for Christmas dinner, there is always this family member dogging you, don’t go back. Hold the next dinner at your place and disinvite her/him and don’t feel bad about it. The law of the world is survival of the fittest, and if you are the weakest link, you must say good-bye.
5. Learn how to be selfish. If you don’t love who you are, then why should anyone else? When you love yourself and treat yourself right, you’re showing others how to love you and treat you right. And if they don’t like who you are, F**CK em! You don’t need them anyway.
6. Learn how to accept compliments.
7. Get out the house! Changing your surrounding, forces you to see a different side of the world. Take your kids with you, if you have to, but it’s something about nature that calms the soul.
8. Pursue life long dreams. Those things you’ve always wanted to do but never did, do it now. Don’t let fear of failure deter you. Just never let dreams die and keep finding ways to hit that target. Accomplishing something you’ve always wanted to do is the ultimate high and who knows what may happen, you maybe doing it for yourself, but inspire many. You never know, someone may say I saw you doing whatever and it made me believe that I can do it. If that’s not a self-esteem booster I don’t know what is.
9. Love someone and not a fool. Love someone that appreciates your love and commitment, children, elderly, disabled people, ill people, abused people, homeless people and ME (LOL) appreciate your love and they will love you back and damned, that feels sooooo good, because they love you on your worst days and your best. It’s awesome!
10. Express yourself on Game of Love.
~ Quit taking life so seriously, yes bad things happen to good people, okay, expect that. Learn how to enjoy what you’ve got.
~ Quit comparing yourself to this person and that person and focusing on what you don’t have.
~ Focus on what you’ve got.
~ Decide that you’re going to be happy no matter what.
~ Decide to have a good day, everyday, even when people are pushing your buttons.
I know almost everyone has heard their parents say, there are some less fortunate so eat that food. And that is true. Be thankful for the way God made you, be thankful that you’re alive and in your right mind and that as long as you’re living you have a chance to make life better. God didn’t allow you to live as long as he did for you to live everyday miserable and in agony. Everyday is your second chance to smile, to enjoy life, to improve the quality of life, starting TODAY.
